Impact Pathways Introduction

The Knowledge Sharing project as whole decided to use the Impact Pathway approach to help with planning, monitoring and evaluating of the overall projects (IKS and KSinR), as well as the various Pilot Projects.

For more information on the Impact Pathways approach see:

Using Impact Pathways for Planning in KSinR

The Impact Pathways approach was introduced and initiated at the Knowledge Sharing Project Inception workshop, lead by Boru Douthwaite.

Impact Pathways were developed for the KSinR Project as well as each of its 6 Pilot Projects. To see these, follow links to documentation of:

Using Impact Pathways for Monitoring and Evaluation

The Impact Pathways approach has also been used in monitoring Project and Pilots' activities and progress during the project period, especially at the mid-point. This has involved the revisiting of the originally developed components of the Impact Pathways as a basis for reviewing progress of the project, evaluating the activities undertaken, capturing some initial lessons, and planning for the rest of the project period. This has been done through:

  • Mid-project reports
  • Discussions (virtual)
  • Project visits

Using Impact Pathways for Evaluation and Impact Asessment

Currently being developed for use at KSinR Synthesis workshop in November 2008. Methods and results will be made available.
